Recycle 2019

Recycling has played an important role in our lives. More and more people are aware that it is through recycling that we will be able to generate less waste on the planet and, consequently, will be preserving nature and the world we live in.

Our students from Infantil 5 have learned about recycling as part of the Science Project Sustentabilidade Ambiental (Environmental Sustainability).

During the whole process, students could realize that, often, when the waste is incorrectly discarded, it ends up affecting the environment and fauna in the planet. Based on that theme, and also on the great involvement of students, we revised such topic in our English classes, focusing on the materials that can be recycled, and also on the recycling bins and their corresponding colors.

The activities in class generated the virtual game “Recycle!”, in which students can view some items to be discarded and, after listening to the recording that tells them what the item is made of, choose the correct selective trash bin to discard them, according to its color. We used the pattern suggested by the National Environmental Council in Brazil to determine the color of each bin.

The students took part in this project by creating a list of disposable items, classifying them according to the material they are made of, drawing and recording the sentences that give players hints to play the game.

It is important that we all play our part, changing our habits and adopting selective waste collection.

Let´s recycle!

A reciclagem dos materiais descartados é um processo muito importante. Cada vez mais, as pessoas se conscientizam de que é por meio da reciclagem que conseguiremos gerar menos resíduos no planeta e, consequentemente, conservar a natureza e o mundo em que vivemos.

Tendo isso em mente, os alunos do Infantil 5 estudam a reciclagem, ao longo do primeiro semestre, como parte do Projeto Sustentabilidade Ambiental. Ao entrar em contato com esse tema, pudemos perceber que, muitas vezes, o lixo descartado de maneira incorreta afeta o meio ambiente e a fauna do planeta.

Partindo do grande envolvimento dos alunos pelo tema, revisitamos o assunto em nossas aulas de Inglês com enfoque em alguns materiais que podem ser reciclados, assim como nas diferentes latas de lixo e suas cores correspondentes.

Esse trabalho durante as aulas deu origem ao jogo virtual Recycle!, no qual os alunos puderam visualizar itens a serem descartados e, ao ouvirem de qual material eram feitos, escolher a lixeira seletiva correta de acordo com a cor do recipiente. Para a definição das cores, utilizamos o padrão apresentado pelo Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente.

Os alunos participaram ativamente no desenvolvimento do Projeto fazendo um levantamento dos itens que seriam descartados, classificando-os em relação ao material de que são feitos, elaborando os desenhos e gravando as falas que orientam o jogador.

É importante que cada um de nós faça sua parte, mudando nossos hábitos e adotando a coleta seletiva de lixo.
