American Pancake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 eggs

Procedure:

Take a large bowl and sift in the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Use another, smaller bowl and whisk together the milk and egg and mix in the melted butter. Pour the liquid mixture into the flour mixture and beat until you have a smooth batter. Mix until you get rid of all the lumps, then let the batter stand for a few minutes. Put a frying pan on medium heat and a piece of butter to grease it.

When the butter is melted and the pan is hot pour a ladle of the batter onto the pan. When bubbles appear on the top of the pancake (this usually happens in one minute) flip it over and bake the other side until it gets light brown. And then it’s done! Bake the rest of the pancakes the same way. Then put them on a plate and cover them with honey, chocolate syrup or jam.
